About Hairlogs
Hairlogs began as a notebook more than a blog. I’m Margot Ellis, and after years of watching beauty trends arrive, peak, and quietly disappear, I wanted one place to write down what actually held up: the haircuts that still looked good six weeks later, the makeup that lasted a full day, and the manicures that earned the time they took.
So this reads less like a stream of tutorials and more like a considered journal. I write about hair, makeup, and nails the way you would talk them over with a friend who has seen a lot of all three: what a look really takes, who it tends to flatter, and whether it is worth your time. Straight, wavy, curly, and coily hair all get the same attention here, and so do different skin tones and nail shapes, because good beauty writing should not treat anyone as an afterthought.
What Hairlogs is, and is not
It is not here to sell you the trend of the week or promise a life-changing makeover. It is here to help you choose well and keep what you choose looking good. If you like your beauty advice honest, a little editorial, and grounded in how hair, makeup, and nails actually behave, you will feel at home.
